The Beauty of Pinterest

Many of us have figured out first hand that social media can be terribly addicting.  In our generation, technology is used so frequently that we sometimes don't realize how much we invest in social media. Contrary to popular belief, our dependance on social media does not always have to be a bad thing.

My favorite source of social media is this magical website called Pinterest.  Here, you can discover and collect different ideas for projects and interests.  Pinterest is most popular for finding food recipes, wardrobe ideas, interior design ideas, crafts, health and beauty tips, etc.  You can create your own boards to "pin" posts to, allowing users to save the ideas and articles for future reference.

Users can also follow friends to see what they are posting as well.  Friends can be found and invited through Facebook, which is linked to your Pinterest account.  You can also take friends in your posts so they don't miss the things you know they MUST see.

Although it sounds pretty girly, Pinterest is not only for females.  Men can use Pinterest to find interesting articles, cooking recipes, pictures of cars, mens' fashion (and all the other typical stereotypes men often live by).

Being the "basic college girl" that I am, I use Pinterest as my own personal therapy sessions.  Relaxing mornings spent looking through Pinterest are perfect examples of the little things in life that make me the happiest.  Getting my creative juices flowing by looking through Pinterest usually make for a productive day.  Plus, it helps me create my own personal fantasy life (home, kitchen, wardrobe, wedding).  Hey, it never hurts to daydream once in a while. ;)
